I AM AN AUNT!!!!!!

Today my sister Courtney had her first little kid Tanner Justen Watkins. Her due date was February 16, 2011, but i guess Tanner just really wanted to be born before the new year. Courtney's water broke on Monday totally unexpectedly. She didn't realize that is what was happening and kinda blew it off. But after calling her doctor, she decided she needed to go the ER to just make sure she was ok. She was admitted that afternoon and battled with having contractions for 2 days straight ( she is a major trooper). They were trying to hold her from having the baby so they could make sure the baby's lungs were developed but this morning they decided they couldn't keep her any longer. She had a C-section this afternoon and little Tanner was born at 4lbs. 8 oz. 17.5 inches long. He will be in the ICU for a couple weeks but is breathing on his own. I am so excited to be an AUNT!!!! And I am so happy for Courtney and Justen :)

This Christmas Season

I just really love the Christmas season and I decided to make a list of everything I love about Christmas.

1. Decorating the Christmas Tree. (even though we aren't going to put ours up this year...)

2. My new appreciation for Christmas Music ( I think Bentley really likes it too because whenever i play Christmas music he seems to start moving around.)

3. Driving around to all the neighborhoods and seeing all the homes covered from head to toe in Christmas Lights.

4. Clients who usually are the most annoying stick-in-the-mud people, actually coming in with a smile on their face :)

5. The self-less acts of buying presents for others to small acts of service for those in need.

6. The joy of Family ( I am especially grateful for my husband and the wonderful kind things he does for me)

7. The yummy goodies that somehow seem to magically appear on your door step.

8. Seeing children's faces on Christmas morning when they see all their amazing new things.

9. The appreciation and compassion we have for others through the holiday season.

10. Jesus Christ. For his sacrifices and his example.

I could go on and on because Christmas is really an amazing holiday and one of the most important all year. But this Christmas I am going to focus on #10 on my list. We were at ward choir and the director stopped us for a second and said that we needed to really feel the words we were singing. That just reminded me that usually I go through the motions around Christmas time but not remembering the true meaning of why we celebrate Christmas. I am grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ and I am so glad each year we have a holiday to truly remember Him.

It's a BOY!!!!!!!!

We went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago to find out the gender of our baby!!!! We were so excited to find out the gender because we hated calling the baby "It". The day before we went to the doctor, Jakes brother called us to tell us they were having a girl instead of a boy. Their doctor had messed up the gender and for like almost 20 weeks or so they planned on bringing a little boy into their family when in reality it was actually a girl. This totally freaked me out cause I totally didn't think doctors really messed up on baby's genders anymore with the amazing technology we have now. So when we went in for the ultrasound, I asked the lady to please make sure for us that the gender is correct. She kinda looked at me funny thinking i had no faith in her abilities whatsoever. The lady went to go and find the gender and this is what we saw....

Our son was not shy about anything, he had his little legs all spread open and flaunting his "stuff". I was happy because that put my mind to rest about not knowing the exact gender and Jake was next to me jumping for joy that he was getting a little son.

We are so excited to bring BENTLEY CAGE JOHANSON into this world. We already love him so much and i know Jake can't wait to teach him how to throw a football. He has been one of the many blessings we have already received in our marriage and can't wait for many wonderful experiences with him in the future. He is due April 2, 2011 and even though it seems so far away , I know it will come sooner than i think. We love you Bentley.

Since my blog was stupid and I had to start over I guess I will start from the beginning. It all started in the summer of 2008. I was living at King Henry in Provo, Ut when Jake moved into my ward. I didn’t really want anything to do with him cause I knew a friend kinda thought he was cute and he wasn’t really my type. Come to find out, he really liked me a lot but thought I was too cute to not have a boyfriend. After a few weeks of getting to know each other, Jake started to turn on the moves, especially when he realized i didn’t have a boyfriend.

We dated for a month and then broke up because I had too many plans that didn’t include him in the picture. It only took us a couple of weeks to figure out that we were really meant to be together. We ended up dating for another 3 months.

And on December 12th, 2008, Jake asked for my hand in marriage. I was so excited and knew i was marrying my best friend. We were engaged for 5 months (kinda long for Mormon standards), but were married in the Mesa, Az Temple on May 2, 2009.

Since then life has gone so fast i don’t know where to begin. We moved to Las Vegas, NV so Jake could finish up school and I could get a good job cutting hair. The first year of marriage we were lucky enough to travel quite a bit and experience a lot of new things for the first time.

We went to San Diego on our Honeymoon,

we got to go to New York for the US Open for tennis and see all the amazing sights,

and we were able to go on a cruise to the Western Caribbean.

On the cruise, we were able to go to Grand Cayman, Honduras, Belize, and Cozumel, Mexico.

We had a blast on our cruise and are planning to take another one in the future. On our one year anniversary, we decided to be kids again and go to Disneyland. We had an amazing fun filled day there and then spent the rest of the weekend in Huntington Beach.

About 2 months after our year anniversary, we decided that we would start praying for an answer about a family. We both felt like we wanted an addition to our family but we didn’t think it would have happened as fast as it did. We knew quite a few people trying for kids and some it took 6 months to get pregnant and some a year, so we never thought it would happen the first time we tried. :) I guess that was our concrete answer from Heavenly Father. We are so excited to bring a new life into this earth. I am now 23 weeks along and so happy i am half way done with being pregnant. Now i can start counting down.

I have finally caught blogger up to speed on the last 2 years. I know i am the worst blogger of all times but i am going to start a new commitment to blog more frequently.
